Global Sales Director

At The Meritage Collection our properties offer a selection of ideal locations that provide luxury options in some of the most desired locations in the western region. As Global Sales Director, you will be responsible for the development of National Accounts that will support The Meritage Collection properties by identifying new opportunities that will benefit the collection.

The Global Sales Director will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to drive group bookings for Meritage Collection properties. This role will be focused on identifying, cultivating, and securing new business opportunities from a variety of market segments, including corporate, association, incentive, and leisure groups. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and strong relationships with key industry stakeholders.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive group business for Meritage Collection properties.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through proactive sales efforts, including cold calling, prospecting, and networking.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and industry stakeholders, including meeting planners, travel agents, corporate executives, and industry associations.
  • Develop and deliver persuasive sales presentations and proposals to potential clients, highlighting the unique features and benefits of Meritage Collection properties.
  • Work closely with the Regional Director of Sales and other key leaders to develop and implement direct sales and marketing initiatives that support group sales efforts.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and competitor activity, providing regular reports and updates to senior management.
  • Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and events to promote Meritage Collection properties and generate new business opportunities.
  • Ensure that all group bookings are properly entered into the company's CRM system and that all relevant information is accurately recorded and maintained.
  • Manage and maintain accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and reports.

  • You will be the single point of contact who will leverage all of the Meritage Collection resources as well as knowledge of each unique property to match customers within the portfolio.
  • You will update clients on new properties, upcoming and recent enhancements, special promotions, current offers and value dates.
  • You will work with a positive "can-do" attitude.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and you can multitask and have attention to detail.

  • You have earned a Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in group sales, preferably in the luxury hotel sector.
  • You have a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • You have strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key clients and industry stakeholders.
  • You have strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You have excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
  • You have the willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • You are passionate about the luxury hotel industry and committed to providing exceptional customer service.
  • You are a certified CME, CMP, CIS
  • You have knowledge and experience with Delphi.fdc
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

The expected salary range for this position is $110,000 to $130,000. This position is eligible for an MBM annual bonus. The actual salary offered will be at the sole discretion of the company and determined by relevant experience, qualifications, and skillset of the final candidate. This role is eligible for health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401k, educational reimbursement, and paid time off, including vacation and sick leave.
